Dr. Beth Kern joined the faculty in the fall of 1995. She had previously taught at the University of Notre Dame, Indiana University and the University of Virginia. Her primary research interests are the impact of taxes on business decisions and tax policy issues. She also conducts research in the scholarship of teaching and learning. She is currently the co-editor of Advances in Accounting Education and has served on the editorial review boards of the Journal of the American Taxation Association and Advances in Taxation. She has served as president, vice president and trustee of the American Taxation Association. She has also served on the AICPA's Education Executive Committee. She is also the Associate Director of FACET (Indiana University’s teaching excellence academy) and serves as the Director of the Mack Center, a center which promotes the scholarship of teaching and learning.
