Prior to joining the faculty of Indiana University South Bend as an Assistant Professor, Dr. Costea taught Principles of Economics, Statistical Methods and Applied Microeconomics at Lehigh University. She is a member of the American Economic Association, American Public Health Association and Eastern Economic Association. Her main field of research is health economics, with a focus on Medicaid drug pricing, the effects of advertising on physicians' prescribing behavior and also on drugs performance as measured by their market share within a therapeutic class.
