Assistant Professor of Accounting

The Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics at Indiana University South Bend is accredited by AACSB International. We are accepting applications for a full-time tenure track position for an assistant professor of accounting. We will consider candidates with an interest in teaching (in-class, hybrid and online courses) in any area of accounting, except taxation.

Additionally, the candidate should have an academic background that indicates an ability to establish an ongoing program of research.

Assistant Professor of Economics

The IU South Bend School of Business and Economics is seeking a tenure track Assistant Professor of Economics. The Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics is accredited by AACSB International.

The position has a teaching load of three courses per semester, or nine credit hours, at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will be expected to teach online Principles of Economics and to play an active role in the Bureau of Business and Economic
Research.

IU South Bend is the third largest campus in the Indiana University system and serves the north central Indiana community.

The position requires a Ph.D. degree in economics with specialization in Labor Economics from an AACSB accredited school of business and economics or
equivalent. ABD candidates will be considered.

Experience in teaching undergraduate labor economics, principles of economics and MBA service courses is desirable. Effective communication skills are required. Preference will be given to individuals who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and research.

The Department of Management and Human Resources at Indiana University South Bend invites applications for a tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2016.

Responsibilities include a teaching load of three courses per semester, or nine semester hours, at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels in organizational behavior, leadership, and change management.

Director, Career Planning Office (PAE4SA)     

The Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics invites applications for Director, Career Planning Office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides leadership and direction for the Career Planning Office.

• Develops and implements strategic plan for Career Services that will guide decision-making.

• Develops and implements new programs to respond to student and employer needs.

• Reports on career planning operations and outcomes including placement, internships, workshops, recruiting events,student assessments, etc.     

• Aligns career planning goals and objectives with the mission and strategic plan of the Leighton School.

• Counsels students and alumni on educational, career, and job placement matters.

• Develops and maintains relationships with corporate, government, and not-for-profit organizations to generate placement and internship opportunities for students.

• Selects, hires, trains, supervises, and sets work hours for student and part-time positions.

• Supervises staff responsible for such activities as advising, orientation, workshop facilitation, etc. including hiring,training, task assignment and evaluation.

• Provides direction for an experiential learning position and a staff position.

• Works with marketing staff to develop promotion and training materials.

• Works with IU South Bend Career Services on employer cultivation and service on workshops, and on student events.

• Assumes other duties as assigned. 

 QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in business, higher education or related field, or Bachelor’s degree with significant related experience.

• Business experience or 3 years related experience in career planning and placement in an academic setting and knowledge of higher education.

• Strong writing ability, proofreading, editing, and strong verbal communication skills.

• Well organized, attention to detail.

• Ability to perform varied tasks concurrently, keep confidential information, work independently and interdependently,set priorities and bring projects to closure.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs that include Word, Excel and Outlook.
