A variety of measures are being put in place to help ensure your health and safety when returning to campus. Among these are providing and requiring cloth face coverings for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors, enacting rigorous cleaning procedures, and reducing the number of people on campus at one time. Signage will inform about public health guidance and any restrictions in place. Additionally, all IU students, faculty and staff will have access to a virtual symptom checker, virtual screening, and COVID-19 testing if needed.
Due to the nature of COVID-19, our individual actions affect not only our own well-being but also those of every other person we interact with or every person who uses the same spaces we use. A pandemic of a highly infectious disease like COVID-19 demands a community response. The CRA ensures employees are informed of—and commit to—best individual safety practices. In addition, understanding that some employees have underlying conditions that make them at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19, the CRA gives employees another way to request accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The CRA does not replace individual conversations with your department for understanding how to plan for work in the fall. In addition to the CRA, please talk to your supervisor, department chair, or associate dean to work through care responsibilities for children, family members in your household who are medically fragile, or other life situations that might play a role in your work this fall.
