The Campus Directions Committee is charged with directing the periodic development of the campus strategic plan in collaboration with University Administration, regularly reviewing and, if needed, revising the campus mission statement, and regularly assessing the progress, results, and performance indicators of each goal and, where appropriate, making recommendations and adjustments.
The CDC has been working on developing the next five-year strategic plan for IU South Bend. The plan will be presented to the Academic Senate in October 2021 for endorsement at the November 2021 senate meeting. The final draft plan will be made available for review on the Academic Senate webpage.
Central to the IU South Bend plan will be (1) new mission, vision, and values statements, (2) strategic goals for the next five years, (3) outcomes, and (4) strategies that will be used to keep us focused on moving the university forward.
The CDC has sought to obtain wide-ranging input from the campus and community throughout its process. Dr. John Welty, a strategic planning consultant, has worked with the CDC and the Chancellor to ensure we have a plan that inspires us to reach even greater heights.
