As chancellor of Indiana University South Bend, I am proud to bring you this website version of the 2011-12 annual report to the community. Looking back, there were many firsts for IU South Bend and many accomplishments for students and faculty.
For the first time, the campus hosted the Governor’s Arts Awards, held a new student induction ceremony, conducted a residential summer arts camp, ran the Nearly Naked Mile for charity, signed an articulation agreement with a university in China, played inter-collegiate women’s volleyball and made quidditch a club sport. Students and faculty excelled in the classroom, laboratories and on stage. The campus also joined with the community to collect teddy bears for children at Christmas and recycle electronic waste.
We also recognize benefactors to IU South Bend for their support. I’m grateful for their generosity and trust in IU South Bend. Their gifts help provide the funding for the programs, people, and resources that our students need during difficult economic times.
I hope you enjoy this digital report to the community. Thank you for your support of IU South Bend.
