Planning and Scheduling
Plan your schedule
Planning a schedule for an upcoming semester is not as difficult as it might seem. Most of your schedule each term (whether you are going full-time or part-time) should consist of courses that fit requirements for your degree.
The IU South Bend Bulletin for this academic year has information about the current degree requirements for your college and department. You can learn about campus-wide general requirements here and access a full list of degrees available at IUSB with links to information about the requirements of each here.
Degree maps, which you can access using this One. IU app, are a tool developed by IU faculty to help you graduate on time. Enter your campus, school, and degree program, and by clicking on the eye icon under "view", see an overview of which courses you need to take each semester.
The iGPS Plan, which you can access using this One.IU app, will help you plan your courses for future semesters.
You can generate a "what-if" report using this app on One.IU. You may be considering a program of study and want to see the degree requirements along with any transfer coursework or test credit already approved by the institution. You can use this component to set up and request a simulated or "what-if" advisement report based on what-if programs of study.
Having trouble picking a major? You’re not alone. Nationally 50% of students are undecided when entering college. Those students who begin college without a chosen major or subsequently change their major to 'exploratory', should contact the Advising Center at 574-520-4214 or firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule an appointment.
