Instructions for Authors

Papers should range in length from four to eight two-column pages including figures and references using the AAAI format. The authors will retain the copyright. Papers may be submitted as a PDF or Microsoft Word document. Send the papers by email to maics [at] cs.iusb.edu.

AAAI style files and instructions.

Latex Instructions

1. Copyright. First, the AAAI style files provide copyright information by default. For the purposes of the MAICS conceference, the copyright must be removed. Second, by default this style does not number the sections - you need a special command to add 2 levels of numbering. To do this, add the following commands to the tex file, just before the \title section:

\nocopyright
\setcounter{secnumdepth}{2}

2. Page formatting and compilation. The command dvipdf might seem convenient for creating a PDF file from a DVI file, but the resulting file often does not contain appropriate page formatting information. Please use the following combination of commands instead, where yourfile.dvi is your DVI file.

dvips -Ppdf -G0 -tletter yourfile

ps2pdf -dPDFSETTINGS=/printer -dCompatibilityLevel=1.4 -dMaxSubsetPct=0 -dSubsetFonts=false -dEmbedAllFonts=true -sPAPERSIZE=letter yourfile.ps

MS Word instructions

Please make sure that the document is in Letter format and that no page numbers are inserted in the file.
