Third Annual Teaching with Technology Fair 2012 - Videos
The presentations of our guest speakers at the April 2012 Third Annual Teaching with Technology Fair are now available for viewing. Thanks to our Media Services staff – Jim Yocom, Joel Langston and Joe Haase – and our UCET staff, particularly Amy Pawlosky, for coordinating the video stream project. Thank you, once again, to our guest presenters for doing the presentations and for agreeing to have their videos posted on our website.
The Teaching with Technology Fair is a collaboration of UCET and Distance Education. The Tech Fair showcases how our faculty integrated instructional technology tools with course development and teaching, and also launches the Call for Proposals for the Teaching with Technology SEED Grant. The SEED (Software and Equipment for Engagement and Discovery) Grant provides faculty with instructional technology tools and is funded by Distance Learning.

3. Time to Play : 9:00 – 12:30, Fireside B
Time to Play includes iPad2, iPod, tablet PC, microphones (e.g., wireless headset, Snowball, Snowflake), portable mini-scanner, video cameras, PowerPoint remote presenter, SoftChalk web-based program for developing learning objects, and streaming video service (as an alternative to VHS players which will be removed from our classrooms in the near future). Time to Play provides an opportunity for faculty to consult with either an IMS or UCET staff about a particular hardware and/or software and have a chance to explore its use individually and more closely. For instance, a faculty member could play with an iPad or create modules in SoftChalk.
4. Tech Tool Pods : 12:30 – 3:30, Fireside A and B
Tech Tool Pod is an informal gathering of individuals interested in a particular hardware or software. It highlights group discussions and demonstrations of the tech tool applications.
Hardware to be featured includes iPad2, iPod, tablet PC, microphones, SoftChalk program, streaming video service, video cameras, and portable scanner. For example, two faculty members could be part of an iPad pod where they take turns demonstrating to interested parties how they have used IPad2 in their course development and teaching.
