The Tech Fair is an opportunity to hear from our faculty who received a tech tool last year from the SEED Grant how they used the tool and share lessons learned. It is also an opportunity for faculty to try some of these tools to determine which ones they would like to apply for. Yummy snacks and refreshments will also be available.
SEED Grants are provided to faculty members annually. Decisions on who gets funded are made by a review committee composed of faculty from several departments and staff from Distance Learning, Instructional Media Services and the University Center for Excellence in Teaching. As the name of the grant implies, reviewers seek proposals that provide a clear rationale on how the use of a particular hardware and/or software will enhance one’s teaching, promote student engagement and discovery, facilitate optimal learning and grow the number of courses where technology integration is key to instruction.
The day’s events are divided into three types of sessions: 1) Faculty Showcase, 2) Time to Play, and 3) Tech Tool Pods.
