Karen Clark received her Ph.D. from Penn State University. Prior to completing her degree, she was a classroom special education teacher for almost ten years in New York State. Most of her work was with elementary students identified as having learning disabilities, emotional disabilities, and mild mental disabilities. She teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in the special education program, and enjoys working with IUSB students at all levels. She is a consulting editor for the journal Behavioral Disorders published by the Council for Children with Behavior Disorders. Her current research interests involve an examination of professional dispositions critical to being an effective educator.
