Inclement Weather

You will be notified through IU Notify via e-mail, text, and phone messages when IU South Bend classes are cancelled due to inclement weather or other emergencies.  For specific information regarding the status of classes at the Elkhart Center, listen to local radio or television stations for closing announcements or visit the following web sites:

There may be instances when classes are cancelled at one location, but not at the other.  If classes are not cancelled, but road conditions make travel in your area dangerous, contact your instructor about individual issues of safety and weather-related absences.

In addition, your instructor may contact you with important class information via e-mail or through Oncourse. Therefore, it is important to check your e-mail account on a regular basis as it is the official means of communication for the university. Also, it is important to make sure your contact information is current at IU-Notify.
