MA, University of Notre Dame

Diane Economakis teaches first-year composition courses at IU South Bend. She earned an MA in English from the University of Notre Dame, and is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University Schreyer Honors College with degrees in English, Secondary Education, and Music. Diane's main area of interest is composition pedagogy, particularly as it relates to the training of graduate student instructors in the writing program. She is also a violinist, and has performed with the IU South Bend Philharmonic as well as the LaPorte Symphony. Diane serves as President of the South Bend Youth Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors, as well as Administrator of the Chautauqua Institution Music Festival.
