Transfer Students and Campus-Wide General Education Requirements
All students who transferred into IUSB in Fall 2005 or after are required to complete general education courses.
Students who transfer in less than 56 credit hours are required to complete the entire general education curriculum (some of these requirements may be fulfilled with transfer course work.)
Students who transfer in 56 credits or more are required to complete the following general education courses (some of these requirements may be fulfilled with transfer course work):
Writing – Eng W131
Oral Communication – Spch S121
Quantitative Reasoning – approved math course or Level 6 on math placement exam
Computer Literacy – an approved course
Course on non-western cultures or diversity in U.S. society
Students with Associate of Arts (AA/AS) degrees who Transfer to IUSB
Students with Associate of Arts degrees from accredited colleges and universities are subject to the rules governing students who transfer in with 56 credit hours or more, regardless of how many credits are actually accepted.
HOWEVER, the college/school/degree program in which you enrolled may require additional general education requirements. Please be sure to check with your academic advisor about additional general education courses required for your degree program.
Students who are returning to classes but who originally enrolled prior to Fall 2005 should check with their academic program about general education requirements.
