What you need to enter an IU South Bend graduate program

Indiana University South Bend admissions wants to make it as convenient as possible for you to begin your graduate studies at the university. Once you have identified which program you wish to enter, visit the department's site to determine the admissions requirements you will need to provide, along with your online application and application fee. 

Commonalities between master’s degree program admissions requirements include

  • Transcripts from all undergraduate institutions attended
  • Evidence of an earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Three letters or recommendation

Admission decisions are made by the specific graduate program, which will inform you about any decisions. Most departments will supply applicants with their Student Identification Number upon admission.

United States citizens and international students use the same application. International students must apply online. Domestic students also have the option of applying via a paper application but the online method is preferred.

Application Fees

For most programs, the application fee is $40 for domestic students and $60 for international students.

The online application fee must be paid via credit card. For any questions or concerns with payment please contact the Office of Admissions at or call (574) 520-4497. Applications are not reviewed until the fee is paid.
