Room Selection Process
Returning Resident Re-Application Process
”Make River Crossing Your Home for 2017-2018”
When you live at River Crossing you become part of a vibrant community. You will have one important thing in common with every other student living on campus:
Students who live on campus consistently earn higher grades and are more involved in the IU South Bend community.
For RETURNING RESIDENTS ONLY, who submit a 2017-2018 Housing Application and Contract will only be required to pay a $100 prepayment. This is a $100 DISCOUNT that we can offer to our current and returning residents ONLY.
We will have more information coming at the end of March about the schedule of events during Returning Student Housing Selection Night so watch our Facebook, website and your IUSB student email accounts!
Now is the time to start making roommate plans for 2017-2018 academic year, thinking about different housing suite styles you may like to live in (1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, 4 bedroom) and encouraging other new students you may know to apply before our Returning Student Housing Selection Night to be eligible to be placed in spaces with returning residents!
As always if you have ANY questions please email firstname.lastname@example.org or stop by the Community Building! We look forward to having you on campus for 2016-2017 acacdemic year and we have already begun planning some EXCITING things for next year!
PROXY FORM and INFORMATION
Housing Proxy Process
Residents who are unable to attend the returning residents housing selection during the day and night on TBD may have another current resident choose their space by acting as a Proxy in their absence. Proxy forms can be picked up at the River Crossing front desk or HERE.
The Proxy Form must be completed by the absent resident and will indicate who is allowed to choose a room on their behalf. The designated proxy must bring the signed form with them to the returning resident housing selection night event and show his/her photo identification when the form is presented at the event. Proxies are unable to sign contracts on behalf of residents so a 2017-2018 housing contract (for the absent student) must be turned into the Bursar’s Office by 5pm on TBD.
If the Office of Housing and Residence Life does not have a completed contract on file by the deadline listed above, you will be required to reapply for housing after the Returning Resident Re-Application Process and work with the housing office to select a space on your own behalf.
If you have any specific questions about the Proxy process please contact Loni Oehlwein, Assistant Director of Housing either by emailing email@example.com or by stopping by the housing office between the hours of 8am and 5pm.
What is a “Proxy”?
A proxy is someone you trust to select a room on your behalf. The proxy you select should bring his or her own ID and a completed proxy form at the appropriate time to select a room on your behalf. Please note that the proxy’s selection if final.
