Assistant Professor of Computer Science/Informatics

The Department of Computer and Information Sciences invites applications for a tenure track position for the 2010-2011 academic year. A Ph.D. in computer science or informatics or closely related area is required. The department currently has expertise in areas such as database systems, artificial intelligence, networking, security, software engineering, bioinformatics, and graphics and is seeking to complement these areas. Candidates with an established research program and with teaching expertise in programming, algorithms and theoretical computing will be given preference. Successful candidates will be expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses. Duties include research and teaching eighteen semester hours per year. Salary will be competitive. The position comes with an excellent fringe benefit package.
