Catherine Hebert

MA Spanish, Western Michigan University, 2007
BA Spanish, Latin American Studies, Central Michigan University, 2003

While completing my graduate work in Spanish at Western Michigan University, I was contracted by Pearson Learning to author a testing program for their top-selling first-year Spanish textbook. After receiving my MA in 2007, I joined the Department of World Language Studies as a Visiting Lecturer, teaching both S101 Basic Spanish I and S102 Basic Spanish II. Starting in Spring 2009 I will be teaching S275 Hispanic Culture and Conversation, a course I believe to be a good combination of my teaching interests, which include not only Spanish language, but also Latin American culture.  My research interests include Second Language Acquisition, Applied Linguistics, Theoretical Linguistics, and Language in Variation.
