About the Concerts

At noon during the first Wednesday of every month during the academic year, students from the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts perform in the Library's 5th floor atrium. These concerts are free and open to the public. Please bring your lunch and enjoy some world class performances from our students!

Students in i100 may count one First Wednesday Concert toward their required event attendance.

Upcoming Concert:

April 4: Choirs & Composition:

The composition segment includes a piano sonata written and performed by Bergen Olson, a piano composition by Katherine Price to be performed by Dmitry Molkov, as well as a choral piece by Katherine Price performed by members of the IU South Bend Chorale.

 The IU South Bend Chamber Choir will perform Ave Maria - Victoria, two French chansons (Costeley and Janniquin), and a humorous spoof on Old MacDonald sung in Latin

 The IU South Bend Chorale will perform music of contemporary American composers Lloyd Pfautsch, Dede Duson, Ron Nelson, Rosephane Powell and a selection from Idomeno by Mozart.

 Both choirs are under the direction of Mike Wade

 

Past Concerts:

March 7: Composition & Flute Ensemble

The composition segment includes a piano composition written and performed by Risa Okina. 

The IU South Bend Flute Ensemble will play a selection of pieces by Mozart, Debussy and Fauré.

Members of the  flute ensemble this semester are: Sarah Biggs, Kellie Holycross, Amanda Malone, Brittany Shannon, Aleischa Shepherd, & Rebecca Hovan
