About the Suggestion

Physics for Future Presidents: the Science Behind the Headlines by Richard Muller, nominated by Julie Elliott, faculty, Library

"As with Citizen You, I thought this would be a useful "second semester" title if we ever decided to have two books. Washington State University is currently using this book as their common reading title, and I think the following quote from WSU Provost Warwick M. Bayly  on why he chose the title articulates the book's strengths better than I can: 'First, I believe it presents science-based information in a way that every student in any major will find understandable and helpful.  [Second,] having the ability to generally understand the science behind all kinds of daily issues will help them benefit the world at large as they take their place in the global community.'
