Please join us in our fourth year of collaborating with the St. Joseph County Public Library on their “One Book, One Michiana” program as we welcome Dr. Pat Furlong, Professor Emeritus of History as he discusses “The Civil War Within Indiana” on Tuesday, April 9 at 7 p.m. in Wiekamp 1001.

St. Joseph County’s book this April is The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara. Dr. Furlong will discus all aspects of the Civil War in Indiana except for military history and battles. His topics will include raising and equipping troops, financing the war effort, and especially the political disputes about the war, the relationship between federal and state governments, and the hotly contested elections of 1862 and 1864.
This program is co-sponsored by the St. Joseph County Chapter of the Indiana University Alumni Association and is free and open to the public.
