The Making the Academic Connection Office is committed to providing support services, programs and advocacy for minority students and Twenty-first Century Scholars.

Our Vision

That every minority student and Twenty-first Century Scholar will excel academically and graduate.

The Making the Academic Connection Program is based upon the following principles as outlined in the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS). These principles are:

We promote the academic success of our students by:

  • Offering distinctive programs that introduce students to a community network that teach students how to negotiate processes within Indiana University South Bend
  • Assist students to determine and assess their educational goals and academic skills
  • Provide support services that assist students in achieving educational goals and attaining or refining their academic skills
  • Promote intellectual, career, social, and ethical development
  • Connect students to campus groups and organizations
