Financial Assistance

Financial Assistance to MS-MIT students is offered through internships and projects in local companies as well as grants received by faculty. This is on a competitive basis and students have to apply for the assistance once they join the MS-MIT or the BS (MIS concentration) programs. These opportunities are in association with the CTS Center for Experiential Education which was established by the School of Business and Economics in 2007. Funded by a generous grant from the CTS Corporation, the CTS-CEE provides realistic learning situations in which students can apply the concepts and skills developed in the classroom setting.

The assistance will be through opportunities such as:

  • Project assistants for field projects with local organizations,
  • Student internships with local organizations,
  • Grant assistants for faculty grants,
  • Teaching and Research assistants in the department.

Students may apply by emailing the Internship Coordinator directly.

IU South Bend students receive approximately $37 million in financial aid each year. This includes scholarships and grants offering "free money" (not paid back), work-study opportunities that allow you to work and earn money to help pay for your costs, and low-interest student and parent loans (borrowed money that must be repaid). More than half of IU South Bend students qualify for financial aid.
