Master of Science in Management Information Technologies: MS-MIT

The MS-MIT degree is one of the best professional career investments. The program, the only one offered in Northern Indiana, will serve as a springboard for successful management of current and future complex information technologies. This program enables graduates to effectively plan and manage complex information technologies and successfully advance their manufacturing and service organizations.

To manage information effectively, organizations will need employees who are proficient both in computing and management. This degree will significantly enhance the information and operations management capabilities of graduates. Graduates gain proficiency in areas such as: Electronic Commerce, Managerial Decision Support Systems, Enterprise Resource Planning, Business Process Reengineering, Database Management Systems, Telecommunication Systems, Web Design, Supply Chain Management, Object Oriented Programming, and Artificial Intelligence Systems.

The MS-MIT program may be completed in two years full or part-time and all courses are offered in the evenings.

Application Forms and Process

  • All applicants must take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). Indiana University South Bend School code for MS-MIT is 82L-WC-92. We will not consider your application complete until we receive your GMAT scores. Your GMAT scores will be valid for five (5) years.

  • Read the Graduate Applicant Information, follow the instructions, and apply online and submit application fee.

  • Fill out and mail MS-MIT Additional Information Forms to Ms. Tracy White, Admin 203C, Indiana University South Bend, 1700 Mishawaka Avenue, Indiana 46615.

  • Fill two recommendations letters and ask your recommenders to mail them separately to Ms. Tracy White, Admin 203C, Indiana University South Bend, 1700 Mishawaka Avenue, Indiana 46615.

  • Send official transcripts from all the colleges and universities that you have attended to to Ms. Tracy White, Admin 203C, Indiana University South Bend, 1700 Mishawaka Avenue, Indiana 46615.


MS-MIT Curriculum

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

(All courses are 3 cr. hours unless otherwise designated)
The minimum GPA required to graduate with a MS-MIT degree is 2.75 (on a 4 point scale)

Course Planner Course Descriptions

Pre-requisites Courses:
Hours based on student background
Maximum of 11 hrs.
 
Note: If the student has taken an equivalent course from an accredited Program within the last 5 years or passes the placement exam (please contact Program Director for details) the pre-requisite will not have to be taken. BUSB-A503 may not be exempted.

BUSB K501 - Computer Skills for Management (1 cr.)
CSCI A505 - Object-Oriented Programming (4 cr.)
BUSB A511 - Mathematical Tools in Business
BUSB A503 - Statistical Applications

Note:
Students must acheive a minimum grade of B in A505, A511, and A503. Students must pass the K501 course.

Foundation Courses:

19 hours

Note:
Students must meet all prerequisites for any class before being able to take the class as an elective.

Students must acheive a minimum grade of C in each of these Foundation courses.
