Collaboration Highlights Russian Composer

The vocal and piano studios of the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts at IU South Bend combine to present “An Evening of Russian Music” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28 in the Campus Auditorium of Northside Hall. The recital will feature students as well as faculty presenting works, all composed by Sergei Rachmaninoff.

Performers will present a program filled with different selections of music that will celebrate Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff.  Assistant Professor of Voice, Jessica McCormack will be accompanied by Senior Lecturer in Music Ketevan Badridze on song selections from Op. 38, that was written in 1916.



Among others, the program’s performances will include sopranos: Mia Foster, Tamra Garrett, Michelle Torres and Qinyue Liu, mezzo-soprano Katelyn Andrysiak, as well as baritones: Christopher Hardy, Arquelle Moore and Lawrence Mitchell-Matthews.  Each singer will be paired with an accompanist which will include Valerie Warrell and Dimitri Zhgenti as well Toradze Piano Studio members Joo Hee Jeong, Siwon Kim, Natasha Stojanovska, and Ilia Ulianitsky. Accompaniment will also be provided by Assistant Professor in Music Geoffrey Duce.
