Men’s Baseball Team Wins Historic First Home Game
Trey Bickel delivered an outstanding pitching performance in the first home game in Indiana University South Bend baseball history. Bickel tossed the first no-hitter in school history as he retired 21-of-22 Purdue North Central hitters, 10 of which came via strikeouts.
IU South Bend scored early in often against a struggling PNC squad as they put up 10 runs in the first three innings of action. The Panthers got their lone runner aboard in the fourth frame when Bickel issued his only walk of the contest.
IU South Bend had five players record three hits and six players who recorded two RBI.
After a 12-8 and 8-2 victory at Purdue North Central yesterday, the Titans complete the three-game sweep of the Panthers to start Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference action 3-0.
Wednesday the Titans will travel to Trinity International University to take on the Trojans. The CCAC doubleheader will begin at 2:30 p.m.
