Press Release
Celebrate IU Day on April 12
A 24-hour, worldwide celebration of all things IU will kick off at midnight April 12.

Dubbed “IU Day,” the virtual gala will host 24 hours of digital content on iuday.iu.edu related to the university, including social media contests, special interviews, mini lectures, arts productions and IU-themed quizzes, as well as the chance to donate to a university-related cause.
The first of its kind, the daylong event was planned to help celebrate the 200-year anniversary of the university’s founding.
In September, the university announced the public phase of its first-ever university-wide philanthropic campaign to support the bicentennial. For All: The Indiana University Bicentennial Campaign has set a record goal of $2.5 billion to be raised by 2020.
Want to be part of IU Day? Here’s how:
- Use social media to share your favorite thoughts about IU using the hashtag #IUday.
- Wear IU gear. Official IU Day wear is available through the university’s online store.
- Download an IU Day graphic to share on your own social media accounts.
- Mark the location where you’ll be celebrating on a world map.
- Donate via give.iu.edu or through IU Crowdfunding. On April 12, participants can see a full list of crowdfunding options, choose a cause and click the red “donate now” button.
