Are you a Visiting/Guest Student?
Visiting/Guest students are those who are seeking a degree at another post-secondary institution and who are in good academic standing there. IU South Bend does not create a transfer credit evaluation for guest students nor support immigration status.
Undergraduate students may enroll in any class which is open to all students and for which they are academically eligible; graduate students must seek permission from the appropriate graduate department before enrollment.
Guest students must submit the following items to complete the application file:
- Online Application
- Application Fee
- Official Transcript or Letter of Good Standing from Academic Advisor
- Immigration Documentation (non-US citizens only)
The $60 application fee is required of all applicants and is non-refundable. You may make payment at the time you submit your electronic application by using your credit card. If you have any difficulties with the payment portion of the application process, please contact the Office of International Student Serivces at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You must submit a transcript that includes work already completed and work currently in progress. Alternatively you may submit a letter of good standing from your academic advisor. Official transcripts should be sent to the Office of International Student Services directly from your school or college.

Non-U.S. residents: Submit a photocopy of your passport page showing your name and date of birth. a photocopy of your I-94 Arrival/Departure Record and visa stamp and a photocopy of your I-20 or DS-2019.U.S. residents, refugees, or asylees: Your most recently issued U.S. immigration document such as Resident Alien Card or USCIS Approval Notice.
Review restrictions on study for certain visa holders (B-1/B-2, F-1 OPT, F-2, J-1).
Since IU South Bend will not be transferring in your F-1 or J-1/J-2 SEVIS record, we request that you submit a letter of good standing from your home institution's international student advisor.
$100,000 for each sickness or illness
Maternity Benefits: same as sickness; pregnancy, childbirth, and complications
$100,000 for each accident or injury
$50,000 for medical evacuation
$25,000 for repatriation
Deductible (or excess fee) not more than $500 per sickness or injury (per person)
