Late Arrival Instructions
Please note that arriving late to Indiana University South Bend will severely delay your testing and registration in coursework.
All international students new to Indiana University South Bend must attend New Student Orientation prior to the beginning of the term. Required reporting dates are noted on I-20s and students should make every effort to arrive on or before that date. Any undergraduate student who does not report to IUSB within three business days prior to the start of classes (and complete the orientation process as scheduled) may not be allowed to register for that semester.
Late-arriving graduate students must obtain permission from their department.
This policy also applies to undergraduate students who are returning to IUSB after an absence of more than 2 semesters.
Well-documented requests for exceptions due to unique circumstances will be considered, as appropriate.
Please contact your graduate department.
Please go to istart.iu.edu and go to the pre arrival checklist under Orientation. You will need to complete the check in list and report there that you have requested to late. After you complete the last step in the checklist, you will get a letter to your Indiana University email account which you will need to carry with you, along with the I-20 you have now, when you enter the US. You may email with documentation of your situation.
