Dr. Louise Collins joined the faculty of IUSB in 1994, and was promoted to Full Professor of Philosophy in 2013.  Her PhD and MA in Philosophy are both from McGill University in Canada, and her BA in PPE (Politics, Philosophy and Economics) is from Oxford University.  Dr. Collins teaches introductory ethics and critical thinking to students beginning their college careers, and she also enjoys teaching upper level classes in ethics, social philosophy, and feminist philosophy.   Dr. Collins was honored to be selected into FACET (Indiana University Faculty Colloquium on Excellence in Teaching) in 2002, in part on the basis of her teaching-related publications.  She has worked on many departmental, College and campus committees, including serving two, three-year terms as philosophy department chair.  She has also been involved with the Women’s and Gender Studies Program throughout her time at IUSB.   Dr. Collins’ scholarship centers on feminist ethics, and she has published scholarly articles on gossip, online relationships, and children’s literature, among other topics.
