Fall Registration Calendar Information

Current Student Registration

See Fall 2014 Calendar

All students registered for classes during the preceding Spring semester are assigned a "registration appointment" during this week. This "appointment" actually denotes the first day and time the student can access registration online via OneStart. Online registration then remains open through the first week of classes.

These are not appointments for students to speak with an academic advisor. Appointments to speak with an academic advisor should be made prior to registration.

All students registered for classes during the preceding Spring semester can find their exact appointment using the My Registration Appointment link in OneStart (onestart.iu.edu) after March 1, 2014.

Open Registration

See Fall 2014 Calendar

Eligible students may register and adjust their schedule on-line via OneStart (onestart.iu.edu). If you did not attend IU South Bend during the last year, you may need to call the Office of the Registrar at 574-520-4451 to make sure your record is updated for the Fall 2014 semester.

Late Registration

See Fall 2014 Calendar

Eligible students may register and adjust their schedule online via OneStart (onestart.iu.edu).

Cancelled Courses

The University reserves the right to cancel courses when enrollments are insufficient. Students officially enrolled in classes that are cancelled must withdraw from the class according to regular withdrawal procedures.

Waitlist Requests

See Fall 2014 Calendar

Sometimes a desired class is closed (all seats taken). Students can place themselves on an electronic waiting list for the class. If space opens the next student in line will be placed in the class. Note that waitlist requests expire according to the dates above.

Requests which will place the student in a time conflict or for a course in which the student is already enrolled (unless requested as drop-if-enrolled) will not be met.

Students should not expect to be notified that one of their requests has been met. Students are responsible for monitoring their registration for met waitlist requests as well as schedule changes.

If a student places more than one waitlist for a course, one is met, and the student later decides to drop that course, they must also drop the unmet waitlist requests, unless they want to be enrolled in the course via one of the remaining requests.
