Titan Awards

Indiana University South Bend is excited to offer the Titan Scholarship Award program to recognize current outstanding graduating high school seniors. Titan Awards are automatically offered to qualifying high school students when they apply to IU South Bend for the fall semester.  Awards will be increased to a Titan Silver or Titan Gold Award when students are fully admitted to IU South Bend and meet the additional GPA and test scores as outlined below.

Titan Gold Award (total value up to $6,000):

A maximum annual Titan award of $1500 will automatically be offered to students accepted to IU South Bend with a GPA of 3.5 and above with an SAT score of 1,000 (math and critical reading scores) and above or ACT equivalent. 

Titan Silver Award (total value up to $3,000):

A maximum annual Titan award of $750 will automatically be offered to students accepted to IU South Bend with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and a 950 SAT (math and critical reading scores) or ACT equivalent.

Titan Onsite Award (total value up to $2,000):

A $500 annual Titan award will automatically be offered to a student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher when they apply during a high school visit by IU South Bend admissions counselors.  Students receiving this award will be reviewed and moved to a higher award amount if the additional GPA and test score criteria is met as outlined above. 

To qualify for a Titan Award, students must apply to IU South Bend by March 1st and be fully admitted for the upcoming Fall term.  Titan awards are automatically renewable for an additional three years when a student maintains a minimum 2.8 GPA, enrolls full-time each fall and spring term, and completes 30 credit hours in the academic year! 

Selective Student Scholarships

This scholarship application is intended to identify outstanding high school seniors from Indiana and the greater Michiana region that plan to enroll as full-time students at the IU South Bend campus immediately after graduation during the Fall 2015 term.  The application is due Janaury 16, 2015.  DEADLINE EXTENDED TO TUESDAY, JANUARY 20! To be considered for these scholarships students must meet the following general criteria in addition to the specific criteria listed for the different programs below:

• Graduate from an accredited high school no later than June 30th.
• Plan to enroll full-time at IU South Bend, beginning in the Fall semester.
• Have a completed IU South Bend admissions application on file.

Herbert Presidential Scholarship

• Minimum 3.5 cumulative high school GPA (6th or 7th semester),
• Minimum math/reading SAT score of 1100 (or ACT equivalent), and
• Be a legal resident of the state of Indiana.

Alumni Honors Scholarship

• Minimum 3.5 cumulative high school GPA (6th or 7th semester),
• Rank in the top 10% of their graduating class,
• Minimum math/reading SAT score of 1200 (or ACT equivalent), and
• Graduate from a public or private high school in Northern Indiana or Southern Michigan.

Informatics Scholars

• Minimum 3.5 cumulative high school GPA (6th or 7th semester),
• Rank in the top 10% of the graduating class,
• Complete a core 40 or Academic Honors diploma from a public or private Indiana high school,
• Demonstrate a strong background in science and mathematics,
• Preference may be given to students that are underrepresented in the field of Informatics.

Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics Scholarship

• Minimum 3.5 cumulative high school GPA (6th or 7th semester),
• Minimum math/reading SAT score of 1100 (or ACT equivalent), and
• Graduate from a public or private high school in the Michiana region.

Franks and Marsha Martin Scholarship

• Minimum 3.5 cumulative high school GPA (6th or 7th semester),
• Rank in the top 10% of their graduating class,
• Minimum math/reading SAT score of 1200 or ACT score of 26, and
• Preference will be given to economically disadvantaged students with leadership potential.

More Scholarship Opportunities

21st Century Scholar Housing Award

Ten (10) 21st Century Scholars admitted to IU South Bend have the opportunity to receive a two-year housing scholarship to reside in River Crossing during their Freshman and Sophomore years.  The award will provide $2500 annually and is renewable for a second year when recipients have successfully completed 30 credit hours and maintained a 2.5 cumulative grade point average.  These awards are provided automatically to students admitted by December 1st with a strong record of academic achievement.  Students must be eligible 21st Century Scholars to receive this award.  Award letters are sent directly to recipients.

Titan Excellence Award

Four (4) Titan Excellence Awards will be offered to high school seniors graduating from and Indiana high school that have been admitted to IU South Bend by December 1st.  Students listed in the top 1-2% of their graduating class will be considered.  Further consideration will be given to those students ranked first in their class that have achieved a math/reading score of 1200 on their SAT (or ACT equivalent) and have a GPA of 3.75 or greater.  This award will provide an annual $3,000 academic scholarship and $3,000 River Crossing housing scholarship for up to four year.  The total value of this award is $24,000 over four years and is renewable when students complete 30 credit hours each academic year and maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA.  Student's academic qualifications will be reviewed and do not require an additional scholarship application.  Award letters are sent directly to recipients after December 1.

Honors Program

Students receiving admission to the Honors Program at IU South Bend are encouraged to complete their application for academic and housing scholarships.  Students reaching a 3.5 cumulative high school GPA or greater and a combined reading and math SAT score of at least 1100 (or ACT equivalent) are candidates for the prestigious Honors Program.  To find out more about the program or to complete a scholarship application, please click here Honors Program website.
