Spirit Week. October 4-8.

Spirit Week!  Show Your Titan Pride!  October 4 through October 8

Sunday, October 4

Family and Friends Day --Campus Housing from 1pm to 5pm

Show off IU South Bend's campus to your family and friends!
There will be a cookout, bubble soccer, and many more fall themed activities!  The cookout will go from 1pm to 2:30 so bring your family and friends to sit down and eat with you.  We’ll have game and more!  Cap it all off by attending the St. George Trio Performance in Northside Hall 158 (free for students and $7 for adults) Student Club receive spirit points for volunteering to help with events!

Monday, October 5

Banner Decorating --SAC 225 from noon to 4pm

Come decorate a banner to represent your student club, department, or office!  Show Titan Pride for what groups you belong too!  All clubs, departments, and offices are invited to decorate a banner in the SAC (cloth, paint, and brushes provided) between noon and 4pm.  Banners will be displayed in the Student Activities Center when we unveil them for our Varsity Volleyball game Tuesday, October 6, at 7 pm.  Judges will select a student club banner that shows the most spirit, creativity, and visual appeal!  Spirit Points awarded to the top 3 club banners!

Wish with the Chancellor--Pedestrian Bridge 7:30 pm

Come make a Wish with the Chancellor.  Chancellor, Terry L. Allison will make public wishes for IU South Bend.  Individuals in attendance can then make a wish out loud or in private followed by the lighting of a paper lantern over the river!

Students, faculty and staff in attendance will get a lantern to light as well!

Tuesday, October 6

Students Vs. Faculty/Staff VolleyballGame -- Student Activities Center Rec Court 5:30 pm

Come watch our students battle a team comprised of faculty and staff members in a fierce game of volleyball!  Spirit Points awarded to clubs who have a member on the student team or an advisor on the faculty/Staff team. 

Women's Varsity Volleyball Game Red Out -- Student Activites Center Varsity Court 7:00 pm

Come cheer our Women's Varsity Volleyball team as they take on Purdue University Calumet.  Wear as much red as you can to show your Titan Pride!

Wednesday, October 7

Lip Sync Battle -- University Grill 8pm

Student Clubs, Organizations, Departments, and Offices are encouraged to participate in our First Lip Sync Battle to show your school spirit!!  Spirit Points will be awarded to clubs who enter more points for Clubs who place in the top 3 spots!  Up to five or your members can sign up and just send the Office of Student Life a digital format of the song you wish to perform too. Email  The stage dimensions are 12’ deep by 16’ wide. 

Thursday, October 8

Nearly NakedMile -- 5:00 registration/ 5:30 race begins

Make sure to participate in this wonderful IUSB Tradition!  This event hosted by the Student Alumni Association is a clothing drive and fun run/walk/trot!  Collect and donate all of your old clothes and then you can either strip down to being nearly naked, dress up in costume, or just run with what you are wearing through a mile course!  Enjoy a wonderful tailgate afterwards!

Nearly Naked Mile & Tailgate--  Campus Mall 5:45 pm

One of the great traditions of IUSB is Nearly Naked Mile!  Organized and put on by the Student Alumni Association this event is a clothing drive and a fun run/walk with friends and other Titans as you dress down or dress up!  Get more info by contacting Shannon Sporowski at 

Spirit points are awarded to clubs who participate in the event!

REGISTRATION starts at 5 PM in the SAC!

Race will begin at 5:30 in front of the SAC!

Minimum of a bathing suit is required but costumes are encouraged!

Bring clothing to donate because the Student Alumni Association will be donating the clothes to a local charity!

Stick around afterwards for a tailgate!

Red & White Dance -- 9:00 University Grill

End SPIRIT WEEK with us at the annual Red & White Dance!

This year we are trying something new.... the dance will be casual and beach themed!

This is a FREE EVENT!

Snacks, live DJ, and photo booth!
