You are invited to apply for Summer Bridge, a program designed to ease the transition from high school to college. If accepted, you will take part in a challenging and rewarding experience that will help prepare you to succeed as a college student!
Program Details: Summer Bridge at IU South Bend is a six-week full scholarship program in which selected incoming students are enrolled in a Threshold Seminar, an English workshop, and a Math workshop, based on performance on placement exams required by IU South Bend. The program meets
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
9:00 am to 3:00 pm
July 1 through August 12, 2013.
Benefits of the Program: Students who successfully complete Summer Bridge will have had the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to begin English and Math at a higher level, will have enhanced their critical reading and study skills, will have enjoyed enrichment activities and integration into the campus community, and will have saved more than $1,000 in tuition and fees!
Summer Bridge offers students the opportunity to exceed their expectations and enter college with more confidence and a competitive edge. Research shows that students who attend summer enrichment programs complete more classes, achieve higher grade point averages, have lower drop-out rates, and have higher graduation rates than similar students who do not attend such programs.
How to Apply: Applicants must be accepted by IU South Bend for fall 2013, must have taken IU South Bend’s placement exams, and must complete an application by May 31, 2013.

Accepted students will be required to attend the Summer Bridge Commitment Meeting on June 21 and IU South Bend New Student Orientation on June 27.
