In the spirit of Pet Refuge, we are starting an Adopt-a-Device program to help the ever growing number of technological tools find new forever homes.

Since the Center for Distance Education (now Center for Online Education) started funding the SEED (Software and Equipment for Engagement and Discovery) Grant several years ago, we have seen an increase in “older” devices being returned. Individuals who received prior SEED Grants were either approved for an upgrade or they left the university.

UCET is coordinating the Adopt-a-Device program. These returned devices are still happy and fully functioning but may lack the speed or functionality of the newest model. However, what they lack in speed and functionality they will surely make up for in love.

Please take a look at the list below to find your forever device. If you do not see a device you wish to adopt please check back in a few weeks. The device list is constantly changing as we find new forever homes and receive new devices.

* Devices are returned sometimes without some or all of their accessories. UCET tries their hardest to give you all you will need for your new device but you may need to make a small investment for your new friend.

If you are interested in meeting one of these happy devices and possibly giving it a forever home, please email a paragraph explaining how the device will be used to improve your teaching to Daniel Janicki
