Introduction to technology at IU South Bend

Are you new to the information technology environment at IU South Bend? This page is a collection of "getting started" info for faculty, staff, and students.

First things: Your IU e-mail account

If I've been admitted to IU South Bend, how do I create my computing accounts?

Students As a student, you can create your accounts yourself once you've been admitted to the university!
Faculty/staff As a faculty or staff member, you can generate your accounts yourself after your paperwork has been processed by Human Resources. Please be aware that you will not, under normal circumstances, be eligible for accounts, and will not be able to create your accounts, until the morning after your employment record is entered into the university's human resources data system. To create your accounts, use the Account Management Service.
How e-mail works at IU Sort out your options for e-mail at IU, based on your campus and status with the university.
Accounts Although specifics differ based on your status with the university, as an IU student or faculty/staff member, you are eligible for a full suite of IU computing accounts (e.g., e-mail, file storage, research, departmental).
