Vet To Vet Networking Group
WorkOne of Northern Indiana is committed to providing quality employment services that assist Veterans to get jobs as quickly as possible at the highest possible wage. Our Vet To Vet Networking Group is a networking group for Veterans engaged in job search. Group members discuss job search strategies and share job search websites and possible job leads. On occasion, guest speakers will address the group and provide job search tips.
Sessions are held every Thursday at 11 AM until 12 PM at the St. Joseph Co. WorkOne Center, 851 Marietta St., South Bend. This will be a Veteran group that will discuss job search issues and networking opportunities around the St. Joseph County region. It will be a forum to learn about how to overcome barriers to employment. The networking group is meant to be a positive experience to share ideas and discuss various success stories of participants. If someone in the group has a perceived barrier, they may bring it up to the group where it can be "brainstormed" for a solution.
Veterans attending the networking group will be required to bring in a copy of their resume for the group to critique. If there hasn't been one developed, the Veteran will have the opportunity to attend the “resume writing” and “I’ve got skills” workshop. The Veteran will also be required to register in Indiana Career Connect job search site and have their resume posted there for employers to view. As well participants will need to be fully enrolled in the WorkOne system with their DD 214 on file.
