How can I receive training on WCMS?

Training materials can be found on the WebDev website located at https://www.iusb.edu/webdev/training-materials/index.php A link to WebDev can also be found on the IU South Bend homepage under Campus Tools. WebDev is the one-stop shop for information about WCMS and includes training videos, website guidelines, frequently asked questions, accessibility standards, troubleshooting, and tips on how to make your website better. If you cannot find what you need on WebDev please send an email with your question to the UITS Support Center at helpdesk@iusb.edu

How do I get access to make changes to my website?

Email your request to the UITS Support Center at helpdesk@iusb.edu You must have approval from the website administrator first.

How do I request a new website?

Send an email request to the UITS Support Center at helpdesk@iusb.edu with an explanation of the purpose of the website and who would be responsible for its content. The WCMS Support Team will contact you with any further questions. If approved, you will be provided a workflow sheet to fill out. The WCMS Support Team will then set up your site and give you access to begin populating your site.

How does a student club or organization get a website?

Student clubs and organization have a different process for creating a website and their sites have a different look. Representatives of the club or organization first need to get the approval of the Director of Student Life to establish a website. Once approved, the representative should send the request to the UITS Support Center at helpdesk@iusb.edu The WCMS Support Team will then provide them with instructions on how to build their site through software called Site Builder.

How can I request an online form to be created for my website?

How do I submit a news item to be put on the homepage?

Email your news item to kborlik@iusb.edu and it will be considered for posting to the homepage. News on the homepage is restricted to larger, public items of interest. Smaller, campus specific news should be put on the campus electronic bulletin board. Those items can also be sent to kborlik@iusb.edu

How do I submit a campus event to be put on the homepage?

Events on the homepage are taken from the IU South Bend Events Calendar through an RSS feed. You must enter your event on the IU South Bend Events Calendar which is easy to do. Follow these instructions:

  1. Log onto OneStart
  2. Click on My IU Calendar in the left navigation bar
  3. Click on Options on the gray bar (upper right)
  4. Click on Maintain Group Calendar
  5. Click on Add/Edit/Delete on the Calendar where you want to add the event (IU South Bend All Events)
  6. Click on Add Event on the gray bar (upper right)
  7. Fill in the details of your event
  8. Click on Save
  9. Click View to confirm
  10. Logout

Your item will be reviewed and posted if appropriate. Then it will automatically be put in a queue to be posted to the events calendar on the homepage.
